About
Copenhagen Gut Microbiome Hub brings together the region's leading scientists, researchers and industry professionals dedicated to leverage the gut microbiome to improve health.

The importance of the gut microbiome for human health and disease has become evident during the last two decades.
Today, it is a key research area for numerous universities, institutions and companies. Not least in the Copenhagen region where a high density of leading microbiome-focused research environments at universities, hospitals and companies are situated, making Copenhagen a hot spot for gut microbiome research.
Given the rising complexity of the field and the expanding commercial interest, there is an unprecedented urgency for cross-disciplinary and translational projects across academia, hospitals, and industry.
Our vision is to become a leading Gut Microbiome Hub in Europe that promotes health through excellent microbiome education, science and innovation.
Our mission is to:
- organize in-person and virtual gut microbiome events
- stimulate gut microbiome training and teaching activities
- attract talents and research investments
- promote regional and international cross-disciplinary collaboration
